Made by Pres. James Monroe and states-
(1)the United States would not interfere with private wars between European powers;
(2-) the United States recognized and would not interfere with existing colonies Western Hemisphere.
(3)- the Western Hemisphere was closed for future colonization; and
(4)- any attempt by a European power to oppress or control any nation in the Western Hemisphere would be viewed as a hostile act against the United States. -

A 1,912-mile railroad line constructed 1863, that connected the existing eastern U.S. rail network at Omaha, Nebraska/Council Bluffs, Iowa with the Pacific coast at the Oakland Long Wharf on San Francisco Bay. -

A movement of people that all go to the same counrty to where they are not natives of , in order to settle there. -

To make or become indulged in American culture or characteristics. Mainly meant for immigrants. -

The population shift from rural to an urban society. A an increase of people living in urban areas, and the ways in which each society adapts to this change. -
Cultral assminaltion
The process in which minority groups come to accept the ideas of more dominant groups.
