In 1492, Columbus sailed west. He was trying to find a sea route to India. Instead, he "found" the Americas. His "discovery" caused a wave of people to come to the new world in search of religous freedom. -

Cortes conquers Aztec Empire
Cortes conquered the Aztecs, even though he was greatly out numbered, because the Aztecs were crippled from European diseases that they had no exposure to, and the European guns and cannons were much better in combat than the Aztecs realitivly poor weapons. -

Pizarro conqueres the Incan Empire
Pizarro defeated the Incan Empire for two main reasons. One was that diseases had gotten to the Incans before Pizarro, so the Incans were already weakend. The other is that Pizarro defeated most of the Incans at a meeteing where the Incan troops were pretty much unarmed -
The English found Jamestown
Jamestown was the Englishes first sucsessful colony in the New World. Because of Jamestown's sucsess, more people fled to the New World in search of religous freedom and the English could create a thriving colony in the New World -
Champlain claims Quebec for France
When Chaplain claims Quebec for France, he sets the foundations for a huge fur trading hotspot. After Champlain claims Quebec, French people and fur traders rush out to what is now Canada to aquire fur for trading and to expand the French colony in the New World. -
The French and Indian war begins
In this war, the French and Indians join forces to try to defeat the British and claim their land. The French prove unsucsessful in this war (as always), and loose much of their land in the New World because of it.
