Columbus "discovers" America
On October 12th, 1492 Columbus discovered America. This is important because if we would'nt have discovered America we might not be living here today. -
Jamestown Colony created
Jamestown was the first real sucessful colony created in America. Jamestown was founded by the London Company. -
Massachusetts Bay Colony created
A group of Puritans came to the new world hoping to have religious freedom. They Puritans set up the Massachusetts Bay Colony. -
New Amsterdam becomes New York
In 1664 the Dutch gave up the land to the British after the British pleaded and the Dutch declared a war. Of course we won, or they wouldn't have given us the land. -

Albany Congress meets
The Congress meets to discuss of better relations with the indian tribes and also build defense measures against the French. This is important because they made descions to help them strive. -
George Washington assaults Fort Duquesne
The British attack on a French fort and are out numbered. As a result the British blew up the fort. The Frence retreated and the British took over the sight. The British then ruled the territory. -
The French & Indian War concludes
The war concluded with the Teaty of Paris in which we gainded control over the lan. The important part is the British taking over the land, so now we can live here today.
