Secrest soceity where Knights were able to organzie workers around country radar. By 1886 group had 700,000 memebers. Wanted rights for child labor, better pay and equal work. -
Railway Strike
Against Baltimore and Ohio railroad and sets of serious of strikes across Northeast. Their response to cutting of their wages for third time in a year. would not allow any of trains to move through. -
Sherman Antitrust Act
Courts ruled that union strikes and boycotts were going to be covered by the law. It forbade and restraints of commerce. FIrst las passed by U.S congress that prohibits trust. -
Homestead Strike
Conflict in a steele plant in Homestead, Pensylvania over rights of labor. It left many men dead and injured. Argument between labor wokrers andmanagement. -
Ludlow Massacre
Miners and their families had recently been removed from their homestead and set up camp outide on public property. Colorado millarty attacked their camp killing many inncocent people.No of the attackers were punished. -
Waterfront Strike
This strike closed ports for the months of May, June and July brought to by the Longshore Men. Wanted a raise in pay and 30 hours a work week. Wanted more ad stronger power. -
Wagner Act
Allowed workers right to form unions and strike. It was signed into law by president Roosevelt. Guarenteed union elcetions and pentalizing unfair labor practices. -
The Fair Labor Standards Act
This law protected minimum wage and guarenteed 40 hours a week. You also got paid time and a half for overtime pay anything over 40 hours a week.It prohibited most of the employment for minors.
