What is it?
The Unification of Italy was a political and social movement that put together the diferents state of the Italy peninsula in only one state of Italy in the XIX century.
It started in 1815 in the congress of Viena and at the end of Napoleon III empire and ended in the 1871 with the war of Franco-Prusia and the incorporation of the church. -

Victor Emmanuel II named Camillio Di Cavour was the first minister of Italy.
He was a very smart statesman who worked hard to promote and expand Piedmont's power. -
War against Austria
It started with the uprising of Lombardy. Austria is against the uprising and France was in favour of it.
Napoleon III signed the peace with Austria after the battle of Solferino. The war ended.
The Piedmont got Lombardia.
France got Nice and Savoy. -

The General Garibaldi, left Genova with his ''Red T-shirts'' towards Sicily .He conquested the island and the south of the peninsula until he reached Naples. He incorporated to the kingdom of the Two Silicias to the Piedmontese Crown. -

Napoleon III was forced to withdraw the military from Rome by the Franco-Prussian war.
The kingdom of Italy invaded Rome and the State of Piamond. They joined the rest of Italy.
