    Napoleon Bonaparte
    Bonaparte deafeated Prussia in 1806. Prussia undermined Napoleon; they trained an army even though they were under control. In the battles of Liepzig and Waterloo, the Prussians fought and defeated Napoleon. Napoleon brought nationalism to Germany. Germans start to see the value in German culture because of Napoleon. This is a positive effect because it led to German unification.
  • Congress of Vienna

    Congress of Vienna
    Prussia [was](• http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/231186/Germany/58180/Results-of-the-Congress-of-Vienna) one of the great four countries at the meetings. Prussia joins the Quadruple and Quintuple Alliance. It turns the Conerderation of the Rhine into the German Confederation and adds Prussia to membership. Prussia wanted unification of Germany and 100% Germans. This is a positive effect because it led to german unification.

    In 1834 , Prussia created a custom union called the Zollverien. By 1854, contained most of the German states except Austria. They became econmonically dependent even though they continued to act independently. This is a positive effect because it was the first major step after the Congress of Vienna.

    The uprisings were demands for liberal reforms which brought revolution to almost all German states. This is a negative effect because people were killed and nothing happened because of it.
  • National Assembly

    Elections were held to try to unify Germany. A constitution was drafted for hereditary monarch with limited powers by a popularly elected lesislative. This is a positive effect led to the unification without anyone getting hurt or dying.

    William I was the king of Prussia. He appointed Otto von Bismark. This is a positive effect because this event let to the unification of Germany. If it wasn't foor William I, Bismark wouldn't have been able to unite Germany.

    He was appointed as the head of the cabinet. He built up the military and hated democracy. He was realplitick. He ignored the constitution fo Prussia. He settled down liberals and focused on war. This is a positive effect because he led to the unification of Germany.

    The border between Denmarka dn German was Schleswig and Holstein. Denmark wanted to annex Holstein and Austria and Prussia said no. There was a war betwwen Prussua and Austria versus Denmark. Prussia wins. Austria and Prussia get something. This is a positive and negative effect because it let to the unification of Germany but people were killed.

    The Seven Weeks' War
    Bismark looked to take out Ausria next. He had to isolate them them form any help. Prussia allied with Italy. Prussia caused Austria to declare war on them. Army fights and wins a war in seven weeks. Prussia gets the disolution of the German Confederation. Prussia formed the North German Confederation. Only the southered states had not yet joined. This is a positive and negative effect because Germany was about to be unified if just the south joined, but people had to die for it to happen.

    This war was to unify the south to Germany had to start a war with France. Oppurtunity in Spanish Succession, scared France. Bismark changes a telegram and sends it to newspapers. On july 1870, Napoleon declare war. Frech defeated by September. This is a negative and positive effect because it finished the unification but people died for it to happen.

    On January 18, 1871, Germany was finally unificed. This is a poitive effect because they are now one and can work together to solve problems. It all started with Napoleon and has gotten a long way.
