Italy was part of the triple entente as Italy got some of the land that the entente won during the war.but not all of it. Lands that they did get was the city of zaro and a couple islands on the Dalamation coast. -
Post War
Italy was caught in high inflation, huge debt, and high unemployment. Even though their expenditures were 3 times greater then revenue, the idea of larger taxes to the wealthy was not made by the government. A new wrold oreder was necessary as the old one was collapsing. -

Benito Mussolini establishes a party
Mussolini was encouraged to create a party by the Italian people who read his newspaper. His won little support, and when the Socialist party gained widespread support and striked fear in the government and business elites who though the Socialist would damage the economy. Mussolini's party attacked socialist and gained respectability when he was asked to be a member of the ruling government coalition. -
Mussolini Uprising
In 1922 Mussolini planned a uprsing to take control of the government. Even though this never took place, the prime minister resigned along with his government due to this threat. The king asked Mussolini to create a party (this happened in October.) -

Great Depression/Market Crash impacts Italy
The United States restricted trade which impacted Italy. A study showed that half of the decline in economy was due to this ruling by the USA. 1931 unemployment occured. It was not until 1937 in which the economy recovered. -

Mussolini's Peak
With Italiy's economy growing, Mussolini wanted to created a greater Italy empire. Mussolini invaded Ethiopia. Ethiopia were not ready for the attack and he was defiant. -

Alliances are made
Italy allied with Nazi Germany. They entered World War 2 and were no match for the allied forces. Many humiliating loses quickly dropped Mussolini's popularity. The country was not ready for the modern day war. -
Mussolini replaced as Prime Minister
The king of Italy replaced Mussolini as prime minister. Now they switched sides to the allies. Ultranationalism was able to thrive. Mussolini's reign ended and was executed in 1945.
