Italy was not giving the land that was promised to them in the beginning of the war. This lead to disputes and tension, Italy just wanted the land that was promised but the promise was not fufilled. -

With growing sucess in Italy Mussolini took advanged of the poorly equipped Ethiopia and invaded. This lead to more land and more resources, this gave Mussolini the peak of his power. -

Mussolini was very powerful, he ignored the condemnation by the Leauge of Nations and alligned with Nazi Germany. These two together made a very powerful and dangerous allience.
