The D.O.I (Declaration of Independence) was written mainly by Thomas Jefferson. It states that we are free from Great Britain and they no longer can dictate us. -
U.S Constitution
Declaration of IndependenceThe U.S. Constitution was written to establish our country's new government. At first, that was the job of the Articles of Confederation, although it didn't handle the task quite well. The Constitution explains how our government is organized with the 3 branches and separation of powers. It also includes the Bill of Rights; a list of an American citizen's rights. -
The Invention of the Cotton Gin
For years slaves had been picking and cleaning cotton all by hand. But in April of 1793 Eli Whitney invented the "cotton gin." It was diesigned to separate the cotton seeds from the cotton fibers, but quicker. It was a collasal success. Many plantations switched over and slaves to clean about 1,000 pounds of cotton per day now. It changed the way slave owners ran there plantations. -

California Gold Rush
In 1848, James W. Marshall found gold in Coloma, California. The news traveled back east and within the next year thousands flooded California in search of gold. Most were Americans who wanted to get rich quick, but that wasn't the case for all. Many came and mined/panned for gold and didn't find much. In order to make a steady income off of mining, one had to find 16 oz. of gold each day. At its peak, in 1852, the gold rush lured in 250,000 people. It ended around 1858 when most gave up. -

The start of World War II startee when Adolph Hitler invaded Poland. From there he invaded the majority of Europe. At first it was just Hitler dictating Europe and then the U.S. stepped in along with 27 other countries. The war lasted for six years, and as a result of that, about 72 million people died. "I have a dream" Speech
The "I have a dream" Speech, by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., took place in Washinton, D.C. in front of the Lincoln Memorial. There was about 250,000 people who witnessed the speech that day. It talked about what he wanted to see happen in America between the different races. That speech changed a lot of American's perspectives, even if they were there or not. -
Launch of the Hubble Telescope
The Hubble space telescope was a major contribution to the discovery of many space related things. The telescope was placed above the Earth's atmosphere so it is able to see far beyond into the universe than telescopes on earth can. Over the years, it has helped determine the age of the universe, the identity of quasars, and the existence of dark energy. And it will continue to serve as the years go on. -
My Birthday
I'm a person of diversity. I like to play all sports, mainly soccer. I do just about everything with my friends, who share common interests. Another thing I love to do is travel, no matter how far or close it is. Also I absolutely love listening/playing music. -
Terrorists attack World Trade Center
On 9-11 terrorists from Iraq attacked the World Trade Center in Manhattan, New York City. Two planes crashed into the Twin Towers causing each to eventually crumble. A bit farther south, in Washington D.C., a third plane attacked the Pentagon. In all, over 3,000 american people died that day. Today there is a memorial in the exact spots that the Twin Towers once stood. It is and will always be remembered in America.
