    columbus discovers america

    on the third of august 1492 columbus began his journey to india, but instead found north america. I was unable to find a landing date so I figured departure date was better than just 1492.
  • The Settlement of Jamestown

    on May 13 1607 settlers landed in Jamestown.
  • The French and Indian War

    the french and indian war continued between 1754 and 1763, it was also called the 7 years war on account of the fact that it lasted 9 years.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    On December 16, 1773 the colonists dumped three shipfulls of tea into the boston harbor in protest to the tea tax.
  • The Battle of Lexington and Concord

  • The Declaration of Independence – July 4, 1776

    on July 4, 1776 the founding fathers declared independence from england.
  • The Battle of Yorktown

  • The Constitutional Convention

  • The invention of the cotton gin

    Eli whitney applied for a patent for his cotton gin on October 28, 1793 and rcieved the patent on march 14, 1794. I would guess the gin was actually invented early in 1793 but I could only find the patent dates given above.

  • The Louisiana Purchase

    The treaty was dated April 30 and signed on May 2. In October, the U.S. Senate ratified the purchase, and in December 1803 France transferred authority over the region to the United States.

    I was unable to find any date for the missouri compromise more detailed then 1820 so January first is not the actual date.
  • Andrew Jackson’s Election

    I could not find the exact date for andrew jackson's election, I do know that it was in 1828. For all I know it could have been in january, but I have no idea.
  • The invention of the telegraph

    I was unable to find an exact date for the invention of the telegraph, most websites said it was invented on the 1830s-1840s wich I think meant that it was still being improved until 1840. nowhere did it give the month and day.
  • The Panic of 1837

    I was unable to find the exact month or day for the panic of 1837.
  • The Trail of Tears

    I was unable to find a month and day for when the trail of tears occured, however I know it started in 1838 and there were still indians marching in 1839.
  • The Mexican-American War

    all I was able to find datewise for the mexican-american war was that it lasted from April 1846–February 1848 so I do not know the exact day of the month.

  • The Firing on Fort Sumter

  • The Emancipation Proclamation

  • The Organization of Standard Oil Trust

    I could only find the year the trust was founded not the month or day.
  • 13th, 14th, 15th Amendments

    Passed by Congress January 31, 1865. Ratified December 6, 1865.
  • Andrew Johnson’s Impeachment

  • The telephone is invented.

  • The invention of the electric light.

  • The Pullman and Homestead Strikes

    Homestead Strike (1892) Pullman Strike (1894), I was unable to find the month and day.
  • The Spanish-American War

  • Theodore Roosevelt becomes president

  • The invention of the airplane.
