    1754 - Seven Year War begins
    The war that lasted seven years started because of arguments over North American land claims over Pittsburgh. this war caused a lot of hardship for the american colonists. Money, lives, and land were lost, as well as colonists being completely blocked from western expansion. This led to the American Revolution because it greatly angered the American colonists.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 stopped American colonists from expanding past Appalachia, this was issued by King George III. It also stated that only licensed traders were allowed to deal with Indians or even travel west. This led to colonial anger, which sparked the 12-year crisis that led to the American Revolution.

    • This act was passed so the colonies could pay back British troops for the Seven Years' War. -The Stamp Act required the colonists to pay a tax on all official and legal papers.
    • This act helped bring the 13 colonies together to oppose the British Parliament. -The colonists demanded that they have greater representation and rights, which led to the American Revolution.

    The Quartering Act decided that the colonies had to house and feed soldiers. The majority of the time, they were housed in barracks. If the barracks were too small, the soldiers stayed in inns, barns, and alehouses. This act was imposed as a punishment. The colonists saw this as an invasion of privacy, which led to colonial anger.

    With this and the Stamp Act, colonists were very angered because Britain still had control. Colonists felt like their basic rights were violated. This as well as the many other taxes and acts that had been imposed by Britain eventually led to the American Revolution.The Declaratory Act stated Britain had the right to make laws and taxes for the 13 colonies.

    The Boston Tea Party was a protest that was started by American colonists because of the tax on tea by the British. A large group of men disguised themselves as Native Americans and boarded ships, they then threw 342 chests of tea into the harbor.
  • Freedom of the colonies

    The Continental Congress in Philadelphia voted in favor of independence from Great Britain in 1776. It was a huge milestone and helped to the start of the United States. This obviously was a huge factor in the American Revolution because, from this point on, the colonies were completely free.
