Sedition act- The Goverment basiclly destroyed the 1st ammendment by making the people pay if they wrote bad about the Gov. and if they didnt pay they'll go to jail. -

Maryland was sueing McCulloch(Naitonal bank) Maryland was saying that the federal bank didn't have the right to tax and take over the state's bank. McCulloch won because they supreme court decided and because the Cheif was a federalist. -
Gibbons v. Ogden
Ogden sued Gibbons because he didn't have a "state" license so he couldn't "go on those waters". But he did have a national license so the court ruled him not guilty.{and because Gibbons was a fed.}
