Montgomery bus boycott
Started when Rosa parks wouldn't move to the back of the bus and was arrested. After she was arrested the boycott against the buses began and worked very well. -
Civil Rights Act of 1957
Eisenhower passes this act in 1957 and it set up civil rights in the legislation part of government, was the first act since reconstruction for blacks. -

Across the country blacks were going into diners and sitting at the bar, they were refused food so they sat and took up space so the diner wouldn't make much money. -

A coordinated march on Washington to pressure the government to desegregating the armed forces and other chances for blacks. -
