    Study conducted in the final decade of the twentieth century confirmed that the number of children's books that present pluralistic balanced racial and ethnic images of children's seldom paralleled censused figures.

    It was found in English speaking countries that less than 1% of books published in the U.S. were books that have been translated.
  • LGBTQ

    Between the years of 1998 and 2002, it was found that books that contained characters who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender were also few and far between making these books hard to find.
