Twelfth Night Timeline

Act 1 Scene 1

1 CE

Orsino, Duke of Illyria, is with Curio and valentine his advisers. They are discussing Olivia, A countess who has recently lost her brother and father. Orsino wants Olivia to marry him but Olivia dose not want to speak with anyone for awhile while in mourning.

Act 1 Scene 2

Viola, our main character, is on the coast of Illyria discussing with a captain where she is and where her brother is, she thinks he drowned. She asks who governs Illyria and the captain says Duke Orsino and he explains what Orsino wants with Olivia. Viola decides to work for Orsino to try to talk to Olivia.

Act 1 Scene 3

Sir Toby, the uncle of Olivia, is drunk at her house and arguing with her maid, Maria. Sir Andrew walks in and starts dancing with sir Toby.

Act 1 Scene 4

Viola takes on the name of Cesario to infiltrate the dukes court, and has been doing well. Orsino tell Cesario to go talk to Olivia and to "Woo" her.

Act 1 Scene 5

Olivia is at her house and is being sad as usual. Cesario is at the gate wanting to talk to Olivia. She finally let him in

Act 2 Scene 1

Sebastian, the twin-brother Viola, washes up on a beach with Antonio.

Act 2 Scene 2

Malvolio give Cesario a ring that Olivia told him to give to Cesario. Viola figures out that Olivia like Cesario.

Act 2 Scene 3

Malvolio is tired of Sir Toby and Andrew being loud so he asks them to stop being loud. They don't like that and they want to make a fool of him, so they and maria hatch a plan.

Act 2 Scene 4

Viola ask advice from Orsino about Olivia and what should he do. He tells her to not pursue it.

Act 2 Scene 5

Sir Toby, Sir Andrew, and Fabian are hiding Olivia's garden, waiting for Malvolio. He enters and finds a letter from maria but sign and written like Olivia and it gives him a list of thing Olivia likes which where not true.

Act 3 Scene 1

Viola and Olivia go to her orchard to talk about what is going on.

Sir Andrew want to leave because Olivia like Cesario more than him. Toby suggests he challenge him to duel, which he does. Sir Toby will deliver it but change up the message.

Act 3 Scene 3

Sebastian is going to talk to Orsino and Antonio is unable to go cause he is a pirate. So he gives Sebastian money.

Act 3 Scene 4 Pt.1

Malvolio, after reading the letter he thought Olivia wrote, he does every thing he was told to do, where yellow stockings, smile at her, and be rude to servants. Olivia find it repulsive and thinks he is possessed. Sir Andrew makes his letter and hands it off to Toby to deliver. But Toby knows this will not cause a fight, so he makes it sound like Andrew is going to kill him. He tells the same to Andrew.

Act 3 Scene 4 Pt.2

before the fight start Antonio shows up to protect viola because he thinks she is Sebastian, Antonio gets caught by the guard and ask viola for his money back, viola is confused.

Act 4 Scene 1

Sebastian is in the street and is found by Andrew and Toby and they think he is Cesario.

Act 4 Scene 2

Malvolio is locked away and Feste, a fool, disguises as a priest and talk to Malvolio,

Act 3 Scene 3

Olivia marries Sebastian thinking he is Cesario.

Act 5 Scene 1

All the confusion get cleared up, Viola tells everyone she is Cesario and tells them that Sebastian is her twin brother. Malvolio is released and so is Antonio. Viola and Orsino get married and Sebastian and Olivia get married. THE END
