• Cesario is ordered by the Duke Orsino to convince the Countess Olivia, that Duke Orsino is a suitable man for her. But in the meantime, instead of convincing Olivia to fall in love with Duke Orsino, she ends up falling in love with Cesario (not knowing ‘he’ is really a ‘she’) -

Act 2: Scene I: The Sea-Coast
Sebastian survived the ship wreck and washed up on the sea coast near Illyria; he too thinks his other twin has died in the ship wreck and decides to travel to Duke Orsino’s court. -

Act 2: Scene III: Olivia's House
Maria, Sir Toby Belch, Feste the clown and Sir Andrew were all drinking, celebrating, singing and having a good time, when Malvolio appears and disapproves of their ruckus and noise, and he criticises Maria for not keeping everyone in line. -

Act 2: Scene III: Olivia's House
Maria, Sir Toby, Sir Andrew and Feste devise a plan to embarrass Malvolio for being so rude and overpowering. Maria writes a love letter supposedly from Olivia; whom Malvolio has feelings for. When Malvolio reads this letter, he will think that his lover has fallen in love with him too, making a complete fool out of himself. This mischievous plan works and Malvolio attempts to show his love with Olivia, although she obviously isn’t interested in this servant. -

Act 3: Scene II: Olivia's House
• Sir Andrew Aguecheek is upset that his love for Olivia is not mutual and decides to journey home, but Sir Toby and Fabian convince him to stay, and persuade him to challenge Cesario to a duel to prove his love for the countess Olivia. -

Act 3: Scene III: A Street
Sebastian arrives in Illyria and is accompanied by Antonio, who is wanted by Duke Orsino for theft of his belongings. -

Act 3: Scene IV: Olivia's Garden
As Sebastian arrives in Illyria on the same scene as Cesario, he is often mistaken for his sister Viola. Olivia (thinking Sebastian is Cesario) proposes to Sebastian and he agrees to her proposal. -

Act 4: Scene II: Olivia's House
Malvolio is locked up, accused of being a mad-man and a victim of demonic possession, although he is not really what he’s being accused of. -

Act 5: Scene I: Before Olivia's House
A clergyman weds Olivia and Sebastian (whom Olivia still thinks is Cesario). Sebastian thinks he’s dreaming but still obliges to the marriage. -

Act 5: Scene I: Before Olivia's House
While Cesario is still on scene, Sebastian arrives and all characters are incredibly confused. Cesario then admits that she is really Viola; Sebastian’s supposedly dead twin sister. Olivia then realises she married a man whom isn’t who she knew. -

Duke Orsino then proposes to Viola (who he thought was Cesario all along). -

Malvolio is released from his cell and confronts Olivia with rage from writing that letter and fooling him in front of everyone. She then explains that it was not her handwriting which the letter was written in. It was the hand of Maria, whom Malvolio then swore revenge upon. -

In the end, Sebastian and Olivia are happily wedded, and Viola and the duke are soon to be married. THE END>
