Achilles was so frustrated and was in distraught that he couldn't protect Patroclus when he was killed, that he had challenged his attacker, Hector, to a man-to-man fight which ultimately ended in Hector's death. -

Achilles's friend Patroclus decided it would be a great idea to distract the Trojans and make them believe that the one fighting on the battle field was Achilles but in reality he would be under the armor. Zeus caught on and decided to cast a spell that Patroclus would be killed by the Trojan warrior Hector. -

Agamemnon had killed a deer that was sacred to Aremtis. This provoked her to cause his troops and him to not set sail because of the dangerous winds she had cast. The only way to stop it was to sacrifice something he also loved so he had sacrificed his own daughter. -
