    Trojan War
    The Trojan War was a war between the Spartans and the Trojans. This started because King Menelaus's wife Helen was captured by Paris of Troy . King Menelaus tried to reason with them but there was no good response. The king of Sparta then sent an army to get her back. This legend will be remembered because of the creativity and bravery used at that time.

    Bag Of Wind

    Bag Of Wind
    Odysseus and his men next land on the island of Aeolus the wind king and stayed with him for a month. To extend his hospitality Aeolus gives Odysseus two parting gives a fair west wind blowing the ships toward Ithaca and a great bag holding all the unfavorable winds. Within sight of home and while Odysseus was sleeping his men opened the bag of wind thinking it had gold and silver inside. The bag of wind then escaped and blew the ships back to Aeolus island.

    The Lotus Eaters were a group of people living on an island taken over by the lotus tree. The Lotus Eaters where people who ate a kind of (fruit/plant) that was called the Lotus Plant. After Odysseus left the island of Circe and being upset and sad that some of his soldiers died he found his self in the land of the Lotus Eaters.

    Cyclops
    The Cyclops was a one eyed monster who didn't have respect towards the gods nor did they fear them. A Cyclopes was considered the sons of Uranus and Gaea. Odysseus arrived on the island of the Cyclops on his way home to Ithica and led his men into a cave full of food unknowing of who the owner was.

    In the story the Cyclops was blinded by Odysseus do to the fact that he simply didn't want to die at the hands of the Cyclops.

    Bag Of Wind Analysis

    Aeolus gave Odysseus a bag of wind to help him get to wherever he needed to go but his men opened the bag and they all ended back at Aeolus island. Aeolus didn't want to help them again because he feared that Odysseus was cursed by the gods.

    Circe was a sorceress who was able to do things that men could only dream of. She also had a relationship with Odysseus.

    Sirens main objective was to lure in anybody who came across their island. They where also hard to avoid because of their loud voices which is why todays sounds like police sirens or ambulance sirens are named after the Sirens from Greek Mythology because they are hard to avoid.

    Scylla and Charybdis
    In Mythology Scylla was a six-headed monster who lived on a rock on one side of a narrow river. Charybdis was a whirlpool on the other side of the river. When ships passed close to Scylla's rock in order to avoid Charybdis she would attack and eat their sailors.

    In Greek Mythology the Suitors of Helen are men who came from many other kingdoms of Greece to compete for the hand of the Spartan princess Helen who was the daughter of Zeus and Leda.

    Helios was the god of the sun and and he traveled from east to west on his chariot which traveled through the sky with him. His chariot was gold shined really brightly.

    Circe in was a sorceress. She was also the daughter of Helios the sun god and of the ocean nymph Perse. She was able by means of drugs and incantations to change humans into wolves, lions, and swine. The Greek hero Odysseus visited her island with his men who she changed into swine.

    The Sirens were dangerous creatures who were kind of similar to mermaids because of their look. They also lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and singing voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island.

    Scylla was a six headed dragon like creature who would attempt to eat the soldiers or sailors who would come through. Charybdis was a large whirlpool who would catch and devour the soldiers that Scylla wouldn't get.

    Suitors where men who came from other kingdoms to fight for the hand of Helen of Sparta. The winner was basically offered the chance to marry Helen if he won.

    Helios was god of the Sun in Greek mythology. He would ride a golden chariot which brought the Sun across the skies each day from the east to the west while at night he came back in relaxed fashion while sitting in a golden cup.
