8.) Shower of Bodies
Everybody outside the building seen that the people trapped inside were saying goodbye to others they knew. Last kisses, hugs, and a tragic love story. -
9.) NYU Students Help
People rushed to the 10th floor and luckily the building next to them was the New York University. A teacher noticed that their were people on the top of the building, he and his student went to the top of the building and found some ladders. He and his kids helped the people from the other building get to safety. -
1.) Getting Ready to Leave
At 4:40 P.M on March 25, 1911 the workers in the Triangle Factory were getting ready to leave early because it was Saturday. -
2.) Lighting cigarettes
At 4:40 P.M the workers only had 5 minutes until their day ended. They didn't follow the rules and lit some cigarettes. -
3.)The fire Starts
At around 4:43 the Triangle Factory fire started. Nobody knows exactly how the fire started, but they assume a lit cigarette in a bucket filled with scarps started it. -
4.) The Hose Wasn't Connected
At around 4:44 the workers realize there's a fire and try to put it out with the hose. When a worker grabs the hose, nothing comes out. -
5.) The Fire Alarm is Pulled
At exactly 4:45 someone pulled the 8th floor fire alarm. In less than two minutes, two horse-drawn vehicles arrived from the firehouse six blocks away. -
6.) Ninth Floor Stairway is Locked
Some time during the fire. People on the ninth floor unfortunately found that the door to the stairway was locked. They then had to find another way out. -
7.) Fire Fighters to the Rescue, But Too Late
After the fire fighters had gotten to the building, people had already starting falling out of the building. As hard as the fire fighters tried to help everyone they couldn't, people were standing on the ledge and the water couldn't get through, or they would could take the risk and spray the room but people would then be flailed into the fire. -
10.) Fire Has Calmed Down; A Special Connection
At exactly 5:15 firefighters bought the fire under control. Chief Croker made an inspection and came to the conclusion the the Asch Building has fire proof. He searched the building the next day and the only living thing he found was a mouse. He picked it up and took it home as a memory to remember one of the reasons that changed America forever.
