Introduction: (Abiotic Factors of an Ecosystem)
There are many things that can be found in an ecosystem like Abiotic factors. An abiotic factor is the temperature, light, water, atmosphere, wind eat of an ecosystem.
  • Burning of Fossil Fuels

    Burning of Fossil Fuels
Burning fossil fuels is extremely dangerous for our environment. This is because burning of fossil fuels creates a gas called CO2. When CO2 is released into the air and into the ocean this gas will seep into our oceans and make them more acidic.
  • Increased Carbon Dioxide

    Increased Carbon Dioxide
Because of the burning of fossil fuels the levels of CO2 are rising tremendously. Because of this oceans acidity has begun to rise over the years.
  • Dissolved Carbon Dioxide decreased pH of the ocean causing acidification

Dissolved Carbon Dioxide decreased pH of the ocean causing acidification
Because so much Dissolved Carbon Dioxide is being released into the atmosphere the pH levels of the ocean have decreased, causing acidification
  • Ocean acidification damaged corals and other calcifiers weakening their shells, preventing their growth, and causing them to die.

Ocean acidification damaged corals and other calcifiers weakening their shells, preventing their growth, and causing them to die.
Because the ocean has become more acidic, a lot of the organisms living within the ocean have begun to see the effects. Some of the organisms being hurt are corals, animals shells, and their ability to grow. Animals that have shells need plenty of calcium in order to have strong and healthy shells. Because the ocean has become so acidic there isn't enough calcium for these animals to feed on. This has also started to bleach corals and stump the growth of many creatures.

Summary (relate your story to Coyotes in the City)
This all relates back to our original story of "Coyotes in the City". This is because, like the creatures of the ocean, we humans are disrupting their environment. We keep building into these coyotes territory and then we expect them to just find some where else to go. We need to start making a change in the way we care for our planet. This means we need to reduce fossil fuel burning and stop building into the territory of these animals. We are destroying their homes and that needs to change.
