The fall of confederacy is when different states such as Texas succeed from the United States. No foreign state noticed that a confederacy state was independent. -
Consequences of the war

On December 21, 1864, Union Maj. Gen. William T. Sherman completed his March to the Sea by capturing Savannah, Georgia. February 1865 -- A Chance for Reconciliation Is Lost.
Confederate President Jefferson Davis agreed to send delegates to a peace conference with President Lincoln and Secretary of State William Seward. But insisted on Lincoln's recognition of the South's independence as a prerequisite. Lincoln refused, and the conference never occurred. -

The war cost is about billions of dollars. The reason the war cost so much because they need supplies for soldiers. They also had to pay the soldiers. -
April 1865 -- Surrender at Appomattox Courthouse
General Lee's troops were soon surrounded, and on April 7, Grant called upon Lee to surrender. On April 9, the two commanders met at Appomattox Courthouse, and agreed on the terms of surrender. Lee's men were sent home on parole -- soldiers with their horses, and officers with their side arms. All other equipment was surrendered -
The Thirteenth Amendment
The amendment outlawed slavery and involuntary servitude, except as punishment for a crime. This law was passed by the Senate. They were concerned about the Emancipation Proclamation -

President Lincoln was shot while at the theatre with his wife. His breathing started to get slower and slower. -

In May 1865 Davis was charged with treason. He was stripped of his eligibility to run for public office. He was captured May 10, 1865
