Indian Removal Act
The Indian Removal Act was passed by President Andrew Jackson. It allowed him to grant lands west of the Mississippi River In exchange for Native American lands in existing states. -
Trail of Tears
The Trail of Tears was a tragic event for all Native Americans. Native Americans were forced to leave their homes, move to an unknown area, and start all over again. The Trail of Tears took longer for some tribes than others, some took months, and others years. It resulted in mass casualties from starvation, climate, and disease. -

The Civil War impacted the natives drastically. They were originally on the Union side but moved to the Confederates side which caused problems for them since the Confederates lost the war. They lost a huge part of their land and their rights. -
