The beginning
Cheif Menominie lead and was cheif of the Potowatomi at the beginning and all through the journey through the Trail of Death. -
The invasion
The Americans finally sought out to get the Patowatomi out of their land in 1838. The cheif and his entire tribe were practically helpless. -
Moving out
All of the Patowatomi were forced to Kansas. They were all focred to march down an awful trail. It was 600 miles away from their home. -
Death trail
It all started of the 4th of September. So many people fell ill beucase they were forced to continusly march without drinking water. Several women and children died from disease and starvation. -
The Mississippi River
10 Patowatomi were able to go an a ferry boat at once across the Missippi. It took them about a month to cross the large river. -
Finally there!
They finally reached Kansas. It wasn't at all how they had hoped. It was dry and deserted. Forty died just for this old and horrible area in Kansas.
