First gas powered tractor
John Froelich invented the gas-powered tractor in Clayton County Iowa. It had more power than the first tractors. -
Tractor with a PTO
Tractors could now have a PTO shaft to take power from the tractor to another source. -
Open gear Tractor
Tractors now can have open gears that allow you to change speeds. -
Three point Hitch
Tractors now have a three-point hitch. They can now hook up to their equipment easier than before. -
Rubber tires
Rubber tires are now used on tractors. They made it easier to go through all of the rough terrains in their fields. -
Front Loader
Tractors can now have a front loader. This allowed tractors to scoop up materials. -
Autosteer
Tractors can have autosteer which allows them to drive in a straight line for planting, cultivating, and spraying. -
9rx
The 9rx was a tractor that had 4 tracks in place for four wheels. It can have up to 620 hp. It's also a four-wheel-drive tractor so power gets distributed to all the tracks. -
Self driving tractor
They are now working on building tractors that don't need an operator to drive it. The tractors will be able to drive themselves. There are some out now but not totally developed yet.
