Sense of touch is important during this time period so babies need things they can touch and handle. Some good things to get would be teething rings, cups, rattles, and plastic toys. You could also get stuffed toys,objects with differnet textures,or simple colorful picture books. -

Toys from seven to nine months
Babies still need things to touch, and anything that makes a noise fascinates infants at this age. Getting books that have inserts of different textures to feel, or places to press on the page that make a noise are perfect. They will also enjoy blocks, balls, large plastic beads that pop apart, and roly-poly toys that can be pushed or kicked. -

By the end of a babies first year they need things to crawl after. They need toys that they can manipulate or work with their hands like baskets, boxes, and other containers. Toys that they can push or pull would also be good. -

In the first three months a baby doesnt really need any toys. Instead they need things to look at and listen too, like a brightly colored mobile hung above the crib or things that make interseting sounds to stimulate development of the senses.
