Philosophical movement of th 18th century. Characterized by the belief of the human reason and innovation. -
Seven years war
First truly global war, British versus French. British wanted to expand and own the original 13 colonies. -
Sugar act and Stamp act
Thet were laws passed by th Pailiament pf Great Britian. They were to raise revenue from the colonist in the 13 colonies and to raise the taxes. -
Boston tea party
Thanks to the high taxes the people that live in the 13 colonies decided to throw to the ocean a ton of te. All of this in manner of protest. -
First continental congress
The 13 colonies were united in Philadelphia and they approved the rights and grievances. They do this to have equality with the rest of Britain -
Second continental congress
Took charge of the military effort and started the struggle for independence. They start making the plans and start to put bases. -
Battle of Saratoga
Was one of the most important military confrontations. It gave the final result of the battle in favor of the continental army -
Battle of Yorktown
Was a confrontation between the continental insurgents and French allies. It took place in the 19 of October -
Peace treaty
It was signed on September 3, between Great Britain, the United States, France and Spain. It recognized the independence of the United States and was granted the entire territory to the north of Florida, to the south of Canada and the east of the Mississippi River. -
