    Signing of The Declaration of Independence
    The Declaration of Independence though commonly believed to have been signed on July 4th was actually signed almost a month later on August 2nd. The Declaration of Independace is exactly as it is named, it is America's Declaration that we had become a seperate country from England and listed all reasons for seperation. The signing of this document was monumental moment in American history when we could officially be declared an independant nation.

    The American Civil war was a war fought between the northern states (Union) and seven southern states (confederacy) over whether or not slavery would become illegal and if the confederate states would secede from the Union. Ultimatley the Union prevailed, slavery was made illegal in the United States, and the seven southern states remained in the Union.

    The great depression was a wolrdwide economic depression originating in the U.S after a fall in stock prices starting on September 4,1929 that began the gradual progression to thel ater stock market crash known as Black Tuesday on October 29, 1929. This economic depression had a devastating affect on citizens leaving many without jobs and homes. Though the exact dates are not known the Great Depression is estimated to have lasted from early 1930's to mid 1940's

    The African American Civil Rights Movement was a social movement centered around abolishing racial segragation and discrimination against African Americans. Though there is no precise start and end date the, Civil Rights Movement lasted from 1954 to 1968. The Civil Rights Movement completley reshaped America's views on racial tolerence and made America finally true to it's claimed belief that all men were created equal.

    Emmett Till was a fourteen year old African American boy who was beaten, mutilated, and murdered in missisippi by two white men named Roy Bryant and J.W Milam. Their motive for murder being that Emmett had alledgedly flirted with Bryant's wife, a white woman. The public open casket funeral of this young boy shocked the country and assisted in onspurring the Civil Rights Movement.

    On November 2,1963 35th President John F. Kennedy was shot and killed in Dallas Texas by Lee Harvey Oswald during a presidential motorcade. Though we know that Oswald shot and killed John F. Kennedy it is unknown whether he acted alone. Most of the public and the U.S House Select Committee on Assassinations believe that President John F. Kennedy's murder was most likely an act of conspiracy. Unfortunantly if there were other parties involved they were never convicted.

    The Columbine High School Massacre was a school shooting orchestrated and carried out by senior students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. This tragic event left fifteen people dead including the shooters and twenty four injured. The Columbine Massacre directly affected laws and regulations today such as a zero tolerence policy for weapons in school, police procedures for shootings, anti-bullying policies, and so on.

    On September 11, 2001 the Islamic terrorist group Al Queda carried out series a of four terrorist attacks. Out of the four planes hijacked that day two crashed into the North and South towers of the world trade center. The third plane crashed into the pentagon, and the fourth plane which was on course to hit somwhere in Washington D.C was retaken by the passangers and crash landed into an open Pennsylvania field. These attacks lead to todays airplane security rules and the War on Terror.

After many years hunting for this man Osama Bin Laden was killed on May 2, 2011 when the U.S Navy Seals Carried out Operation Neptune Spear. His death left the United States overcome with the feeling of relief and a sense of justice.
