The Underground Railroad was a secret organization where slaves would escape to find freedom. The South believed that the North wasn't doing enough to stop slaves from escaping, but helping them instead. This became a huge problem and lead to the Cvil War. -
Dred Scott Vs. Sandfold
Dred Scott a slave whose owners died fought for his freedom in the supreme court. Although the judge was against him because he wasn't a citizen, but property and the court’s decision also invalidated the Missouri Compromise of 1820. This lead to the Civil War -

John Brown opposed slavery and demented murderer to many other people. He was more like a terrorist when he first lead the Pottawatomie Massacre citezens then became scared when he slit the bodies of the pro slave setttlers. His actions lead to the Civil War. -
Raid On Harpers Ferry
John Brown wanted to cause a slave rebellion; Harper's Ferry is where the rebellion happen. Although John Brown didn't suceed citizens were scared and this was one of the main causes of the Civil War. -
Abraham Lincoln's Election
Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican President. He did hold against slave states, but he said no more new slaves. Slave states didn't belive he was just going to leave and knew he had a plan. South Carolina suceeded because they felt threatned. This lead to the Civil War -
Slavery In America
In 1862, Lincoln issued his Emancipation Proclamation freeing all slaves in captured Confederate territory. Since then slavery became a big imact on the Civil after 245 years of slavery. This definetly lead to the Civil War.
