Boston Massacre
Five colonists are killed by British soldiers, naming the event the Boston Massacre. -
Boston Tea Party
After this act was passed, the colonists got on one of the ships bringing in the tea, and dumped it into the ocean. -
First Continental Congress
Twelve of the thirteen colonies sent over their delgates - excluding Georgia - to Philly, debating on plans of action and eventually sending a Declaration of Rights to King George III. -
Battles of Lexington and Concord
These battles began the Revolution; the colonists fought for their rights against the British. -
Second Continental Congress
This was basically the first actual government of the colonies. This lasted from the Declaration of Independence to the Articles of Confederation.This was the first taste we had of having our own government. -
