Julie and Robin are Killed: 11:30 PM - 4:00 AM
On the night of April 4th 1991, Tom Cummins and Julie and Robin Kerry were out past curfew to show Tom the poem that Julie painted onto the Old chain of Rocks Bridge. While walking, they run into Richardson, Clemmons, Gray and Winfery, who have an interaction before Tom and his cousins walk away. The 4 friends follow them so that they could rob and rape them. They abuse Tom and his cousins . After they do, they force them off of the bridge into the rushing waters. Tom was the only survivor. -
Tom Gets Interviewed: 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Later that day, Tom is taken to the Police Station to be questioned. He is put into an interrogation room where he is asked questions about what happened on the bridge. First, the detectives were nice. They tried to make Tom feel like he was doing the right thing. After the first few investigations, Tom gets interviewed with a polygraph in the room. They tell him to say what happened on the night of the murders. The detector says that he lied. The detectives start yelling at and beating up Tom. -
Tom Gets Abused by the Cops: 2:30 PM - 3:00 PM
After the Polygraph incident, Tom was taken to another interrogation room. He was first relieved to be back to a place where the nicer cops were, but once the door closed, the cop that was escorting him started to yell and cuss at him. As he was being abused, another cop was trying to convince Gene, Toms dad, that the fall that Tom took when falling into the river was "impossible to survive." The cops were trying to say that Tom might have done the crime, even when he didn't. -
Tom Gets Lied into "Confessing": Around 4:30 PM
After one of the cops stopped yelling at Tom, another cop came into the room saying that two of the suspects were brought into custody, even when they haven't. They told Tom that the two suspects told them what happened on the bridge, and said that Tom was the one that did the raping and the killing. Although there were no actual suspects in custody, the cops wanted an confession out of Tom. Later, they brought him into another room, where they were able to get a "confession" out of him. -
Tom gets arrested: Late Afternoon
Knowing that they got a confession out of Tom, the cops brought him down to a room where they will record his confession. He tells the cops that they are not listening to him. Back at the Kerry house, Kay calls Frank Fabbri, an attorney, to help her son. He tells Kay that he needs to talk with Tom immediately before they do something. He knows the cops will arrest Tom. Back at the station, Gene is getting Kay's information from Fabbri, but is stopped when he sees that his son has been arrested. -
Tom Gets the Police: 5:00 AM - 5:30 AM
On the early morning of April 5th 1991, Tom flags down a car and call the police. They show up and find Tom. Tom tells the cops about what happened. They start an investigation on the bridge. The police come to the Kerry house where they tell Tom's parents that he had been a part of an "incident." They get to the bridge around 5:30 AM and meet Tom. Tom's parents want to bring him home, but Tom wants to help the police in any way possible. -
Tom Gets Released: Early - Late Morning
The day after Tom gets arrested, the two detectives that got the confession out of tom were talking to the police Sargent telling him that they got the killer. He tells them that since they never got a recorded confession, they had no proof that Tom was the murderer. Tom wakes up early in the morning, not knowing when or if he will be released from the cell. Then, a cop comes in and tells Tom that he's being released. Tom is brought out of the building where he gets picked up by his parents. -
Tom is Put in a Holding Cell: Late Afternoon - Early Morning
After being arrested for 2 counts of 1st degree murder, Tom talks with his attorney, Frank Fabbri. He tells Tom that they have no concrete evidence to hold him for too long, but that he would have to stay in the cell overnight. Tom gets put into a large cell with multiple prisoners first, but Gene tells the police to put him on suicide watch so he can have his own cell. Tom gets put into the cell and falls to sleep, waking up the next day bruised and drained from the previous day. -
The Cops Get Richardson: Late Afternoon - 6:00 PM
When doing an investigation on the bridge, two detectives find a flashlight that linked back to Richardson, one of the murderers. They come to his house and take him to the station to question him. When they got there, Richardson told the cops that he saw what happened, telling them that he was a bystander and that he knew the other two that did the killing. He ratted out Clemmons and Grey and allowed them to be taken into custody, thinking he would be able to leave a free man. He was wrong. -
Grey and Clemmons get Interrogated: 9:00 PM 4/6 - 5:00 AM 4/8
After Richardson ratted out Grey and Clemmons, they were brought into custody. Grey and Clemmons both got questioned, taking over a day to finish. When they found out that Richardson was the one who ratted them out, they decided to rat him out as well, making Richardson a new suspect. -
Tom's First Meeting With Sargent Moss

The date for this is not clear, so I made my best guess. In the book it said that he met with Moss for the first time in late 1991, less than a month after the deaths of his cousins. This event is not necessarily important to put in, but I wanted to. -
Julie and Robin's Funeral
Although the police were not able to find Robin's body, Ginna decided to go ahead with the funeral service. The Funeral was special. Robin wanted her funeral to be light hearted and a celebration. -
Tom Meets With Moss For a Second Time
