    The toddler will start to walk.The toddler can sit down without any help. They can crawl on their hands and knees and drink from a cup as well.
  • 12-15 months-Cognitive

    12-15 months-Cognitive
    The toddler will understand the word "no" and its meaning. Has a three to five word vocabulary. The toddler can understand the word 'bye bye' and begins to learn the concept of up and down.
  • 16-18 months-Physical

    16-18 months-Physical
    The toddler can go down the stairs one step at a time. Can slide down the stairs backwards. The toddler may imitate caregiver doing housework and can scribble on paper.
  • 16-18 months-Cognitive

    16-18 months-Cognitive
    The toddler will now have a vocabulary of about 10 words. Knows common objects. The toddler may start to understand certain objects uses. They also will recognize some pictures.
  • 19-21 months-Physical

    19-21 months-Physical
    The toddler can now walk well and is secure. Can turn pages in a book one at a time. May start to be able to remove socks and shoes. The toddler will also be able to put blocks in a container.
  • 19-21 months-Cognitive

    The toddler can now name common people. Can follow simple directions. May invent new ways to play with toys with their imagination and know the other people in their lifes names.
  • 22-24 months-Physical

    The toddler can push wheeled toys well. Can grasp crayons well and unzip their zipper. The toddler also might be able to draw a straight line.
  • 22-24 months-Cognitive

    The toddler can ask for food. Can avoid most hazards and refers to themselves by their name. They also have more insight and forethought in their actions.
  • 24-30 months-Physical

    24-30 months-Physical
    The toddler can now run. Can pick up objects from the floor with good balance. The toddler can now throw a ball a couple of feet and are know able to turn a door handle.
  • 24-30 months-Cognitive

    24-30 months-Cognitive
    The toddler now knows their colors. Knows about 300 words at about 30 months. The toddler now becomes egocentric and begins to understand the concept of time.
  • 30-36 months-Physical

    30-36 months-Physical
    The toddler may start to ride a tricycle. Can now cut with scissors well. The toddler may begin to use the toliet. They will also be able to run easily now.
  • 30-36 months-Cognitive

    30-36 months-Cognitive
    The toddler can now speak understood sentences. Can answer most simple questions. The toddler becomes more friendly and less negative. They also start to understand taking turns and sharing.
