Manifest Destiny
The Manifest Destiny was the start of the removal of the Native Americans from whats known today as The United States. Even though the Europeans at the time didn't think forcing the Natives to leave because they were white and christian and that made them right. During this time if you were different than that was wrong. The picture below shows that the whites were doing what God told them to, and an angel is moving the natives out so the whites can build their new colony. -
Andrew Jackson Indian Removal
Andrew Jackson is very known for being the 7th president of the United States. Many people do not realize that he was also one of the main leaders during the starting of the United States colony. But many people do know that he was one of the leaders during the time where the whites came to the United States and thought that since they were white and Christian they were right. Trail Of Tears
The Trail of Tears is a very known historic event. The Trail of Tears is where the Americans pushed out many Native tribes from their homes thousands of miles away from where the Americans wanted to live. Thousands of Natives died on the travel by foot from the East side of the united states to the west. The picture below shows the trails different Native tribes had to take because the Americans forced them to take their families and move away from them. -
The Alamo
The Alamo was an old church in Texas that many people believed would keep them safe from almost anything and whenever anything odd happened the villagers ran into the Alamo for safety. The Mexicans were once leaders of the Alamo until the Texans army took over. When the Mexicans came back and the Texans were in charge resulted in the battle of the Alamo and the Texans won the battle and remained in control of the Alamo. Mormons
Mormon is a Very strict religion founded by Joseph Smith, who was visited by God and Jesus, who told him not to choose a religion yet, later he started the Mormon Religion. Joseph Smith did a list of steps and eventually found the Book of Mormon, where rules and Mormon stories came from. The Mormons believed that Alcohol, Tea, Coffee, and Tobacco were not allowed. The members of The Mormon Churches had to give 10% of their pay to the church. The picture is of a Mormon Church Session. -
Joseph Smith
Joseph Smith was a young finder at the age of 14 when he believed that God and Jesus came down from heaven to tell him not to pick a religion. Than a angel named Moroni came into his room one night while he was sleeping and told him to find the gold plates. Than he placed them into a hat and read the hieroglyphic writing 1 character at a time until he found all the gold plates. He later founded a religion called Mormon. Brigham Young
Brigham Young was a leader in the Mormon religion. He was a follower of Joseph Smith and never had to do much to keep the Mormons together until leader and founder on the Mormon religion Joseph Smith was killed and became a martyr. Recently after being announced the leader Brigham Young lead the Mormons from Illinois to Salt Lake City Utah. Later the mormon religion leaders decided Brigham young had 55 wives. Mexican War
The Mexican War was a war between Mexico and The United States. The United States believed they had a Manifest Destiny and should be able to have the Land next to the Pacific Ocean and that meant for the United States to expand down to Mexico. The Mexicans did not like that the United States believed they were entitled the land that was not theirs so a war broke out and the United states won and Mexico lost 1/3 of their territory. Donner Party
The Donner Party were 12 men and 5 women on their way to California after setting out from Springfield, IL. The group was taking a short cut to California. The Donner's set out for their adventure too late and were stuck in the Truckee Pass where a native tribe lived but a member of the Party shot a bullet at them when they were going to help the Party out. So when the party ran out of food they ate what was eatable including members of the party. There were 87 total and 47 died. -
Gold Rush
The Gold Rush was a very known American historic event when James Marshall was building a saw mill and found gold flakes in the creek and then the word spread that there was gold and thousands of miners traveled to California in search for gold.Thousands left their families and all they had to move West for the greedy urge of becoming rich. The Gold Rush resulted with several deaths from people doing anything for money.The picture below shows gold miners showing off their gold.
