    During WW1 unemployment disappeared because people were working at factories to help during the war

    Canadians of German and Austro Hungarian were alienated
  • Women on the Home front (+1) (social)

    Women were impacted by the events of WW1. Women were encouraged to enter the work force during WW1.
  • Peggy (+1) ( cultural)

    Peggy became one of the original members of the first battalion that fought in the 2nd battle of Ypres.
  • Jeremiah Jones and other Canadian black soldiers (+1) ( cultural)

    During the Battle of Vimy Ridge in April of 1917, Jones rescued his unit from an enemy machine gun nest in what was to become a battle that is now known as Canada's greatest success and source of great national pride.

    Influenza also known as the Spanish flu killed 10 thousand less Canadians then ww1 did

    In 1918 the Canadian federal government banned the import and transportation of liquor people believed that liquor didn't support the war effort, the grain could be used to feed soldiers rather than make alcohol.

    WW1 finally came to an end when Germany signed an armistice agreement with there allies. WW1 was considered and "end to all wars" .
  • Discovery of insulin(+2) (technological)

    in 1922 medical students Charles Best and Dr. Frederick from the university of Toronto discovered insulin which would prevent diabetes and control metabolism.
  • The Great Depression ( Economic)

    Canadians and the rest of the world had a huge stock market crash. Canada was affected more then most countries as many Canadians were homeless and hungry.
