Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 was issued by King George lll. The Proclamation came after Great Britian's asset of French territory at the end of the French and Indian War. -

Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a street fight that began because of colonists throwing sticks and stones at Bristish soldiers. The soldiers fought back and killed some of the colonists, and even though it wasn't actually a massacre, the colonists called it one. -
Tea Act
The Tea Act was an Act of the Parliament of Great Britian. The purpose objective was to lessen the large amount of tea. -
Boston Tea Party
This Act of colonial resistence served as a protest against taxation. Merchants in Boston refused to admit to Patriot pressure. So on December 16, 1773 Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty got on ships and threw 342 chests of tea overboard. -
Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Acts was a term for a series of laws passed by the British Parliament. There were meant to punish colonists for throwing tea into the Boston harbor. -
1st Continential Congress
It was a meeting of delegates from the thirteen colonies. It was called in response to "The passage of the Coercive Acts". The Intolerable Acts punished Massachusetts for the Boston Tea Party. The Congress was attended by delegates from the colonies. -
2nd Continential Congress
The 2nd Continential Congress was a covention of delegates from the thirteen colonies, It managed the colonial war effort, and moved closer to independence. -
Midnight Ride - Revere, Cheswell, Dawes
Paul Revere was sent for by to ride to Lexington, Massachusetts, to warn Adams and Hancock becasue British troops were coming to arrest them. -
Lexington and Concord
The British marched to Concord because it was an arms depot. As they marched to Concord, they passed through Lexington. Both sides fired, and the Americans were waiting for them in force. -
Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris ended the revolutionary war and recognized American independence.
