INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION BEGINNING
The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in Great Britain, continental Europe, and the United States, in the period from about 1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840. This transition included moving from manual to machine production methods, the manufacture of new chemicals. and iron production processes, the increasing use of steam and water energy, the development of machine tools and the emergence of the mechanized factory system. -
FIRST TRADE UNIONS
The British labor movement emerged with the Industrial Revolution, first as a resistance to industrialization itself and later as a defense of the rights of workers, subjected to the harsh conditions of proletarianization imposed by working conditions in factories, without the wage, working hours or other working conditions could be subject to collective bargaining. -
WATT'S STEAM ENGINE
The first steam engines, introduced by Thomas Newcomen in 1712, were of "atmospheric" design. Watt noted that the water spray also cooled the cylinder itself, and a significant amount of heat was required to heat it to the point where steam could enter the cylinder without immediately condensing again. The end result used the same cycle as the Newcomen design, but without any cooling of the main cylinder, which was immediately ready for another race. -

LUDDISM
Luddism was a movement led by English artisans in the 19th century, who protested between 1811 and 1816 against new machines that destroyed jobs. Industrial looms and the industrial spinning machine introduced during the Industrial Revolution threatened to replace artisans with less skilled and lower paid female workers, putting them out of work. -
STEPHENSON'S LOCOMOTIVE
The Stephenson Rocket was one of the first steam locomotives with a 0-2-2 wheel arrangement. It was designed by Robert Stephenson in 1829, and built by the Robert Stephenson and Company in Newcastle upon Tyne. -
