timeline of xbox

  • xbox appears in America

    the generation one Xbox was first introduced in 2001. after releasing a year after the PlayStation 2, it was designed to have a faster specs and an ethernet port. the ethernet port allowed players to connect to online and play with others. the Xbox had built in storage compared to the competitors plug in storage.
  • second generation

    Xbox had a quicker turnaround compared to its competitors, just 4 short years later they released the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 was sold with the first wireless controller for gaming consoles. The console was backwards compatible, which allowed players to play both Xbox and Xbox 360 games, while also being able to play DVDs.
  • Kinect technology

    Five years after the release of the 360, the added the Kinect motion tracking technology. this allowed players to feel more connected to playing game for being physically involved.
  • generation 3

    The Xbox One started off on a rocky, having to release 3 different consoles to compete with PlayStation. three years after in initial release of the Xbox one, they release another version Xbox one s, then a year later the Xbox one x
  • buying of Bethesda

    Xbox bought gaming developing company Bethesda. the rights to all of Bethesda's games allowed players to play their games there the game pass. this also made Bethesda to only make games for Microsoft.
  • Xbox series S & X

    releasing of the series S and X came off slow but both consoles were designed to be the fastest console on the market. the consoles was also installed to support up to 8k resolution.
