Chapter 1
This is Chapter 1, the important event here is when Arianne's mother died. -
Chapter 2
Chapter 2, Arianne and Luc's first meeting at Miss Lascande's mansion. -
Chapter 3
This is the first time we are introduced to a French Nazi soldier, Alois Grand. This is also when we find out Romy Dulac is also in love with Arianne. -
Chapter 4
From Alois' side of the story, he and the rest of his unit are going home soon. Romy watches and envies Arianne's and Luc's relationship. -
Chapter 6
This is no one's point of view, but it's the description of the Allies landing in Normandy. -
Chapter 7
The town of Samaroux, France is celebrating the Allies invasion so the war will be over with soon. However, things start getting complicated when Luc's mother tells Arianne to "make him stay" from leaving for secret reasons. -
Chapter 8
Arianne, in desperation, spends the night with Luc in the Lascande place in hopes that this will keep Luc home. -
Chapter 9
Luc tells Arianne that he is going to hide two Jews at the Lascande place so he has to leave. This really breaks Arianne's heart. Romy learns about this, sees this as an advantage to start dating Arianne. At the end of the chapter, there's a train explosion when Luc found the two Jews and lead them to the Lascande place in the night. -
Chapter 10,11,12, and 13
Alois and the rest of the soldiers invade Samaroux. Arianne and Paul go into hiding. Romy and Father Julian get shot for being not revealing where the Jews are. The soldiers kill everyone else in the village. Paul is found by Alois, brought to the Captain, Alois takes the bullet that was meant for Paul so he could escape. Paul and Arianne find Luc and they live together. At the very end we find out that Solange was telling the story this entire time. -
