In the New Testament book of Acts there are references to Christians gathering to “break bread,” called an “Agape Love Feast.” “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42 “They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.”

The Eucharist is still a major part of Christian lives now, almost all church services use the Eucharist as a way to show that Christ is with the people who take it, his body and his blood.
