    Upheld the constitionality of the seperate but equal law. A 7-1 vote upheld the law. this is important because it engrains intitional racism into the government.

    Established that segregated schools were unconstitutional. overturned plessy vs ferguson. This is important because it was the first step in treating african americans as equals.

    A 14-year-old black boy was killed after allegedly whistling at a white woman. The woman actually lied about the whole thing however his murderers were acquitted. This goes to show how little african american lives were cared about.

    nine black children were enrolled into little rock central high. Many white students protested this and didnt come to school. This broke down many barriers and inspired the movement.

    nonviolent protests in greensboro. white people abused the minority protesters. this was a key to peaceful protests
