  • Proclomation of 1763

    Proclomation of 1763
    England was trying to stop westward expansion of the colonies. Making the boundry the Appalation mountians.
    Colonists had already began expansion and almost ignored this proclomaton put in place.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    Taxation on sugar products. Food with sugar became more expensive.
    Colonist again boycotted many sugar products.
    England eventually repealed act even tho much of them were heavily taxed in comparison to the colonists
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    Taxed all paper goods imported to the colonies.
    The colonists reaction was to boycott by not using the stamps required by the british parlament.
    England did not react for a while until finally giving up on the stamp act due to colonial outrage.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    Act giving the british parlament the same power in America as they did in England.
    Colonsit were angered because this was almost a foreshadowing that more taxing acts would be put in place.
  • Townshed Act

    Townshed Act
    British attempt to tax glass, paper tea. Mostly to try to supress the quickly growing colonies.
    Colonist reacted with the eventual build to the boston tea party, the dumping of taxed tea.
    England reacted by repealing the act in 1770
