From 1891 to 1919, many changes and improvments were made in our way of living. James Hogg was officiall a governor in 1891. He was an important role in our progression by creating the Railroad Commission. Two new amendments were passed as well. Suffrage was a big change in the way things worked. Prohibition was also a popular argument. -

Oil Discovery
The oil discovery was a great time for the oil industry in Texas. Originally, Texas was known for it's agriculture. Everything changed when Isaac's Storm, a damaging hurrricane in Galveston, took place in 1900. This lead some people to leave Galveston, and it also made Texas more well-known. Then, two years later, the surprising Spindletop oil boom happened in 1901. This changed the entire industry in Texas. It urbanized the state, and people made more advanced things with it. -
