Porto Santos is a small island that was founded by Joao Goncalves and Tristao Vaz Teixieria. Porto Santo is 16.28 squared miles, Just a small island. The very interesting thing is the elevation is 0ft and the population was only 5,833 people in 2011. -

Geographer Martin Waldseemüler is the one to name "America" to refer to the recent discovered continents, after Italian merchant, explorer, and cartographer Amerigo Vespucci. Sadly Columbus loses out on profitable naming rights. -

The Night of Tears which almost two thirds of Cortés' men—nearly 800 in total are killed while they try to escape Tenochtitlan after Montezuma's death. -

The Spanish import the first African slaves to the territory that will later become the United States. The Africans where very popular on being slavery for the Hatred towards one another. Some groups would gang up on others with the Spanish killing the others or letting the Spanish take them for slaves. -

The Battle Of The Alamo
The Battle of the Alamo begins. Mexican troops under General Santa Anna, defeat the American garrison inhabiting the mission church in San Antonio, Texas, but the Alamo will inspire Texan forces to victory of subsequent battles. This battle did not end till 1836. -
Treaty Of Guadalupe Hidalgo
The treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo was signed, ending the Mexican-American War. The United States added all or part of New Mexico, Arizona, California, Utah, Nevada and Wyoming. The land area of the United States grows by nearly a third in one day. Leading to most of the U.S.A we have today. -
