    Slavery

    Slavery began in the 1400s and it was during Golden Ages. Europeans traveled around so that they could find rich Africans and then they would trade them. 13,000,000 people were traded of by the Europeans.

    Trading Post

    This started by them taking over other countries to provide other resources for different uses. Europeans took other countries over because they wanted to be in control of the trade routes.
  • Britain Seizing

    Britain started controlling Egypt so they would take control over Suez Canal. They did this so they could have the man made river.
  • France Seizing

    France wanted to take control Western Africa so they did.
  • Imperialism

    Europeans colony started growing and between the 1870s and until World War I
  • New Imperialism Empire

    They were all about having their own empire so that they could be stronger.
  • Europeans Compete

    Europeans were very aggressive against people who were over seas for more territory.
  • White Mans Burden

    All of the africans had to carry the white men on their back were ever they wanted to go.
  • Power

    When the Europeans gained more power they had almost 8,880,000 square miles of land. Their target was then Africa because they had lots of land to. They competed with Asians too and the Japanese tried helping the Europeans.
  • Cape Colony

    It's the two most important holdings in Africa. They were controlled by the French.
  • British got Suez Canal

    British people went and bought the land so they could start taking land little by little.
  • European Policy

    Europeans made this policy so they could make more profit off of the land. African countries were then used only for their materials.

    Europe had left problems for Africans to still find bout how to take care of.
  • Areas are Forced

    People were forced to make single cash crops to divid and rule the strategy by the Europeans.
  • Berlin Conference

    The conference was held in Germany because they were trying to regulate the fights over Africa.
  • The Worst Country

    The worst country is Belgium Congo it's controlled by the Europeans. It's the worst country because when people aren't doing good work the person in charge will hurt a child in their family. The thing they do is cut a body part off of the child.
  • South Africa Independence

    Britain gave their independence in 1910. South Africa was then able to control their businesses. The only problem was their was a group of white people so they were in control of thing and still separated from each other.
  • African World War II

    It was a huge rebel against colonization. This started in 1940s. The person who started to fight back against them was Kwame Nkrumah he suggest the idea of Pan-Africanism.
  • Nelson Mandela

    He is a famous leader who was on the African National Congress. Mandela had the choice of being a leader or a lawyer but chose a lawyer. When he was an adult he protested apartheid after he protested he was arrested.
  • Apartheid Policy

    It was a policy made to still be able to separate whites and blacks. That then meant that the white were the ones who would tell them were they could and couldn't live. Another thing that the whites where in charge of was where they could and couldn't live.
  • African National Congress

    It was a change for them because they now worked for the government. The people who were in charge where put in jail. A man named Steven Biko had been arrested and he was killed by the police.
  • Sudan Independance

    Britin had given Sudan their independence in 1956. They then started practicing the religions that they wanted to. Their government was on the northern side of the country. After they had gained their independence the people didn't like the north rule. So they then had a war over it it lasted from 1956 to 1972 and then started again in 1983 and lasted to 2005.
  • Inspiring Others during the African World War II

    This inspired Jomo Kenyatta who lived in Kenya. Another person who was inspired by the idea was Nnamdi Azikiwe who is from Nigeria. Pan-Africanism inspired them because it was against the people who were fighting against them trying to take them out of the world.
  • Non Perfect Lives for Africans

    Life still wasn't the best for Africans because their economy is still devastated and it was more difficult. Europeans still had a grasp on them and drew the line on certain things
  • Tutsi and Hutu

    Before they became a country Tutsi was in charge of the Hutus. After the country became independent wars started to break out all over Rwanda. They would go at each other for days. The violence ended in 1994.
  • Suffering

    Nigerians were suffering from war and violence As people suffered others would go out and try to declare that they were independent.
  • Tunisia Protestors

    They agitated other countries forever on more democratic government. They would use social media to try and make people think that they should have more democratic government. Tunisians tried so hard and finally got them to do this. 2010
  • Muammar Qaddafi

    Qaddafi is a dictator in Libya. He refused to step down and stop everything but he didn't. Since he didn't stop them wars broke out everywhere around Libya.
  • Egypt Leadership

    They were leaders with the president Hosni. Egyptians had been controlled and dictated for 30 years by Hosni. Hosni was replaced after a few years by Mohammed.
  • Mohammed Morsi

    He wasn't the president for very long only because he wasn't that good at leading and he was also over ruled by the military. Morsi was also put in prison and all of his political party was banned from the area.
