    The war finally ended with a peace treaty. However, the after effects of the war left Great Britain in millions of dept.
  • The Sugar act

    Parliament passed this law to tax item like, molasses, sugar, coffee, select wines, pimento, silk, etc.. This left the colonies angered, they felt their freedom and money were being taken away. This was the act that started it all.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp act passed by Parliament made stamps be put on documents such as, official paperwork, license, contracts, newspapers, etc. This made the colonies boycott and protest, they started to cause havoc.
  • Declaratory Act

    This act passed made it so Parliament could have constitutional power to legislate for the colonies/ have complete control over the colonies. Colonials believed that this act was a major victory. They thought that oblige to change their decisions.

    The Townshend Act made it so imported goods to the American colonies would be taxes. colonies boycotted and refused to buy items British goods.

    The Tea Act passed by parliament made a tax on tea. This was the last straw for the colonies, the effects of this law is what brought The Boston Tea party.
