Major English constitution document that sets out specific liberties of the subject that the king is prohibited from infringing -
English Bill of Rights
Prohibited a standing army in peacetime, execpt with the consent of Parliament, and required that all parliamentary elections be free. Also included suck guarantees as the right to a fair trail, as well as freedom from excessive bail and from cruel and unusual punishment. -
Albany Plan of Union
Was a proposal to create unified government for the Thirteen Colonies, suggested by Benjamin Franklin, then a senior leader and a delegate from Pennsylvania, at the Albany Congress. -
