    In 1764 Parliament passed the Sugar Act. The sugar Act lowered the tax on the molasses the colonists imported.

    Parliament passed the Stamp Act in 1765. The law taxed almost all printed materials like newspapers, wills, and playing cards needed a stamp to show that the tax had been paid

    n March 1770 a fight broke out between some Bostonians and soldiers. The colonists started throwing things at the British soldiers and the British shot back and killed 5 people. This was known as the Boston Massacre

    In 1773 three colonists dressed as Native Americans and boarded the ships and threw 342 chests of tea overboard. This was known as the Boston Tea Party.
