A grape-shot is a type of pellet that is not on solid shot but a group of metal balls. When assembled they resemble a cluster of grapes. Napoleon said he had to use "a whiff of a grape-shot" against a Royalist mob on the streets of Paris during the later stages of the Revolution. -
