USS Cole Bombing The USS Cole is towed away from the port city of Aden, Yemen, into open sea on Oct. 29, 2000 The U.S.S. Cole was attacked off the coast of Yemen just shy of a year before the attacks on 9/11. It was driven by 2 terrorists through the harbor before coming along side the Cole and detonating. Looking back after the attacks of 9/11, this event is looked at as the hightening of terrorist activities against the United States. -
