Captain Arthur Philip of Britain lands the first Australian fleet at Botany Bay in Sydney. This fleet had eleven ships to it. These ships carried just the convicts, some gaurds and the crew. However most of the fleet's population was made up of convicts. -

Lord's Cricket Ground
The Lord's Cricket ground was established in 1814. This allowed cricket to be played here and was founded by Thomas Lord. The establishment of the cricket ground meant that formal matches could be played. This also meant that cricket could be recognized as a sport not a school game althought its orgins go back to the 14th centuary. -

Invasion of Belgium
