Proclamation Act
The Proclamation Act forbid colonist from buying land on the west of the Appalachians. The colonist couldn't do anything serious about it because troops were sent to the colonies to prohibit them. -
Sugar Act
The Sugar Act is charges put on colonial trade. Things imported into the colonies. Colonist did not like this and protested against it. -
Currency Act
The Currency Act was made to prohibit colonial "government" to print any money for the colonies. Colonist also didn't like this Act and protested about it along with the Sugar Act. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act is taxes put on everything in the colonies. The colonist did not like this at all because they didn't even have enough money to pay all these taxes with ease. they didn't have a problem that Britain wanted to tax, their problem is that Britain undersaw how much they actually lacked and struggled. -
Quartering Act
The Quartering Act was established for colonist to give unoccupied buildings for British soldiers to stay. The colonist did not like this much but it wasn't there greatest issue at the time. -
Declaratory Act
Declaratory Act was passed the same day the the Stamp Act was repealed, stating that parliament can make laws for the colonies regardless of anything. The colonist found this really threatening to there life and independence. -
Townshed Act
The Town shed Act imposed taxes glass, lead, paint, paper, tea stuff like that. The Colonist didn't like this much either so they decided to not buy British imports anymore or as often. -
Boston Massacre
British Soldiers attack and killed a lot of people in Boston. This all happened because the colonist standed strongly with "no taxation without representation". Troops were then sent to enforce the law and things got out of hand. -
Boston Tea Party
Colonist dumped 342 canisters of tea in the Boston Harbor. As A for to attack Britain. British then got really upset and closed the Harbor for trade prohibiting the colonist to get materials. -
Intolerable Act
The Intolerable Act were laws passed to punish the colonist in Massachusetts Bay for the Boston Tea Party. ALL the colonist found this Act as a threat to them and took it quite personally, their liberties felt the most threatened over this law. -
Quartering Act 1774
Colonies were now supposed to house Royal governors in homes with food and everything necessary. Colonist liked this even less because they were already fighting back against the British government and now they have to house more "important people". -
Quebec Act
The Quebec Act was to establish control over the Province of Quebec. Colonist thought this was a way to forcefully make them comply to Britain wishes. They didn't like it at all because Britain was finding every other way to try to get there way with the colonist and they weren't being heard at all.
